PASSOVER EASTER AND HOW TO APPLY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB

The Book of Exodus tells us that God delivered the Children of Israel from slavery in Egypt by putting ten plagues upon the Egyptians before Pharaoh would finally release the Children of Israel. The tenth and worst of the plagues was when God sent an Angel of Death to kill the first-born. God told Israelites to mark the doorposts of their homes with the blood of a lamb and, upon seeing this, the Angel of Death passed over these homes, which is where the term "Passover" comes from.
Ultimately, Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God and when we apply the blood of Jesus Christ into our lives by faith, we are supernaturally cleansed by the blood and saved. Easter which is on Sunday April 24th in the U.S. is the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Although many Christians do not celebrate Easter because it is essentially a pagan holiday, the real meaning of the Resurrection should not be lost on us. The actual Holiday of Easter comes from Babylon and celebrates the fertility rites with things like rabbits and eggs. Historically, it is about worshipping a pagan God.
However, it is appropriate for believers in Jesus Christ to set aside a time to reflect on the Biblical meaning of Jesus Christ and to celebrate the Resurrection. Although, the date we celebrate Easter on is not the accurate date for the Resurrection, we can focus on the true meaning of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God who died for our sins without having to participate in pagan rituals.
The Passover account points to the true Lamb of God Jesus Christ who promises to resurrect us from the dead through His blood. However, I believe there is a temporal application to applying the blood of the Lamb in our lives. This is not to be thought of as an extra-Biblical or magical ritual. But, if the focus is on Christ or Yeshua in prayer, we can ask for God’s divine protection over our lives, homes and loved ones. In other words the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ applied in our lives in prayer can place our lives in divine protection.
